Tournaments within regular tournaments.

New for 2010, the Houston Tour will include an extra game along with your regular event. Every player will play the normal event and awards will be made to the individual players as normal ($20 of your entry fee goes toward the normal prize pool, this pool is from your flight).

But, at the end of each event, players will draw for two-person teams that will compete in a Modified Stableford and winners will be paid to the top three teams ($5.00 of your entry fee goes toward the team pool, this pool is from all flights). Once the two-person teams are determined they must get together and compile their Stableford points and submit them to the scoring table.

Modified Stableford Points will be scored as:

Double Eagle - 8 Points
Eagle - 6 Points
Birdie - 4 Points
Par - 2 Points
Bogey - 1 Point
Double Bogey/Triple Bogey- 0 Points

A players required point total is determined by taking 36 and subtracting their handicap. For example; if you are a 12 handicapper then you will take 36 minus 12 and your required point total will be 24 points.

This system helps combine any arrangement of handicappers and make the competition fair because a 2 handicapper will be required to get 34 points to be competitive in this format. So, for example if two players draw each other and form a team such as a 4 handicap and a 18 handicapper they will be required to combine for 50 points.

The team competition will pay 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Winners will be determined by determining which team has the best overall difference in their required team total, usually the teams that win will have a positive team total.

Examples:

Team 1 required to have 40 points and they make 36, they are negative 4 points.

Team 2 required to have 42 points and they make 44, they are positive 2 points.

Team 3 required to have 32 points and they make 37, they are positive 5 points.

Team 3 will place 1st, Team 2 will place 2nd and Team 1 will place 3rd.

Prize pool will be destributed like the regular event, 1st Place 50% of prize pool, 2nd Place 30%, and 3rd Place 20%.

The Prize Pool will be drawn from every player($5) in the field, so if you have 80 players, that will be a $400.00 prize pool.

Team 1 would share $200
Team 2 would share $120
Team 3 would share $80

This additional $5.00 will be included in your entry fee, so everyone is eligible.
