Houston Tour members made the trip to Hilton Head, SC to compete in the 2008 Amateur Golf Tour's National Finals held October 26th & 27th.

Mark Dion outlasted 62 "D" Flight players from all over the Country to bring home the Championship trophy. Mark was in fourth place going into day two with a six stroke deficit to overcome. Paired with the day one leader, Mark stated that he stayed focused on his own game and not so much what the other players in his group were doing. Mark's focus paid off as the other players started to snap under the pressure and Mark passed them to take the lead.

Lynn Cormier made the trip to Hilton Head to compete in a field of 117 "A" Flight players from across the Country. Lynn started day two five strokes behind the co-leaders and in seventh place. Lynn knew he had the game to overcome the deficit and fired a great round of 76 to finish in 3rd place which was 1 stroke off from being part of a three player play-off. Although Lynn was disappointed because he knew he left some strokes on the field and could have taken home the Championship trophy, we are all proud of his comeback and place third. Lynn will also represent the Houston Tour in a couple of weeks in the Senior Championship held at Hilton Head as well.

First year tour player, Percy Kennedy, qualified to make the trip to Hilton Head this year to represent the Houston Tour in the "C" Flight. Percy put together two solid rounds to tie for 3rd place in a field of 128 "C" Flight players from across the Country. Percy was beat in a playoff and settled for the 4th place position and we are all proud of his results in his first season on the tour.

Troy Massey, the Houston Tour - "D" Flight points leader for the 2008 season made a strong showing as well in Hilton Head by being consistent and firing two great rounds to place 6th in the "D" Flight at the National Finals in Hilton Head with a field of 62 players from across the Country in his flight.
